Juli revealed in her presentation that the utilization of Lake Buyan as a multifunctional resource has caused excessive pressure on the lake ecosystem, resulting in a significant decrease in water quality. Juli added that the research aims to analyze the level of water quality and pollution status of Lake Buyan, the behavior and ethnoecology of the community related to the preservation of Lake Buyan, and formulate a strategy to control pollution of Lake Buyan waters. Lake Buyan is indicated to be polluted, with a pollution index categorized as lightly polluted. Community activities also contribute to pollution, especially in terms of behavior, with poor behavior levels, especially among farmers. Ethnoecological aspects are identified from the praxis (practice) of the community based on the cosmos (belief) system and traditional corvus (knowledge) in myths related to environmental conservation, he added. The strategic planning of Lake Buyan management based on the ISM method begins with determining the priority of management elements using the simple additive weighting (SAW) method, through FGDs with experts consisting of government, academics, and community leaders. The results highlighted the elements of environmentally sound ecotourism as an element of program objectives; a polluting material handling system as an element of program needs; environmentally friendly tourism activities as an element of activities for program planning; BKSDA Bali and DLH Buleleng Regency as elements of institutions involved in program implementation; households, farmers, fishermen, and business actors as elements of the affected community sector; increased knowledge and community participation; and integrated management of Lake Buyan between related institutions and stakeholders as elements of possible changes. It is hoped that strategies focused on these key elements can serve as a foundation for the development of effective Lake Buyan management policies, Juli concluded.
